my career started with a bachelor of science degree in Human ecology, which in short means I’m wildly passionate about people.

Hey, I’m Kristen! I’m a 32 year old mom of 2 in Edmonton.

I spent most of my adult life working in the social work field with different populations of people until I jumped into photography full time in 2022. I’m here to capture magic for all people - I’m pro choice, pro love who you love, pro be who you are, pro human rights and anti-racism. There’s no room here for people that don’t feel the same so this is your heads up 😉❤️.

Forte Studios promises to give you beautiful photos and an experience that feels easy, warm, and fully supported. I’ll take the lead on planning so you can show up relaxed, feel comfortable in front of the camera, and leave radiating confidence. I want the experience to bring out a spark in you, something you can carry with you long after your photos are taken.

I’m thick in the motherhood stage right now - so if you watch my stories or see my content just know that it’s the stage of life I’m in and life is really all about my kids right now. When I get time off I love to just spend time with family whether that be at the park, going to play cafes, or road trips.


While I love creating, the art of photography, this business is really all about customer service and experience. I want everyone to have fun, feel supported, and love their photos for years to come. So, nice to ‘meet’ you!

What I Mean When I say I Put People First

    I'll take care of planning and put together a shot list

    You don’t have to prep a thing for your session. Based on your goals, I’ll plan a shot list and tell you what to bring to make it easy for you.

    I have a zero (awkward) silence rule

    If I’m not telling you exactly what to do, I’m talking to you and making sure you feel comfortable and relaxed. So often I’m told, “wow I was worried and then you made it easy”. Getting your photo taken should never feel like work.

    I'll capture all the right angles

    As humans, we’re really hard on ourselves. Going in front of the camera feels vulnerable and sometimes a bit nerve wracking. Wherever you are in your self love journey I’ll make sure to highlight your best self and bring that out in photos.

  • I will make additional edits if requested for no extra cost.

    Within reason of course! I want you to be happy with your photos, if you notice something after the session that you’d like adjusted - I’ll fix it for you no questions asked.

    I allow sessions to cancel/rebook last minute (including mini sessions)

    Yes, this sometimes means if I have sessions booked during peak flu season I get lots of cancellations and a peppering of rescheduled sessions everyday of the week - but it’s worth it! I know if I spent a couple hundred dollars and then my kids got sick I’d want to be able to reschedule and would be sad if I couldn’t.

    No charge for sessions going late

    I always tell clients “I’m the leader during our time together”. Which means we get what we need in the time allotted. As we approach the end of our session I’ll make sure we’ve got what we need and what you wanted as well. It’s for that reason I don’t charge for late sessions.

  • I provide all the best images back, every time.

    This means I never cap galleries, I simply give you it all. It sometimes means you get 300+ photos back from your brand session and hey - I’d be happy if that were me!

  • It's barely been 24 hours since the shoot, and I already received a preview! Talk about keeping the momentum going! I can't WAIT to see the rest. Kristen came highly recommended, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. The entire process and experience to date has been fantastic!

These are discounted hourly rates and give people the option to pay quarterly or even monthly. I’ve reworked these in recent months to also include b-roll + brand strategy support.

  • I transitioned to full time photography 3 years ago and it changed my life. If I can help people do the same then I’ve made it. All packages are customized and include a mix of lesson plans, shadowing & practice.
